"A tour of independent bookstores by book lovers that could be adapted
in other parts of country will take place this summer.
With the support of the continuing education department at a local
community college, Larry Portzline, who works for the state government
and teaches writing part-time at the Harrisburg Area Community
College, will lead some 30-40 book lovers from Harrisburg, Pa., to New
York City's Greenwich Village on Saturday, July 12, to visit
independent bookstores in the area. On the ride, the group will
discuss competition between the chains, independents and online stores
as well as related topics."
