Notes from the Floor:
My latest pair of shoes started showing wear today. Part of the rubber sole is coming off. Not sure if it happened while I was talking about Ender's Game with a customer, loading the New Paperback Fiction table, or tracking the possible shoplifters in the mystery section.
I love Saturday nights in the bookstore. We have live music on the stage from about 6pm on and there's tons o' traffic every time. The blend of music and readers really energizes the staff and we end up talking about books a lot. I'd like to track down a copy of Soul Catcher by Frank Herbert. A customer sold me on it, talking about how un-Dune his writing was for this book set in contemporary times about a man and a boy on a long journey together.
