ack, finally broke through to the blogger site...first, a word on independent films. we just got back from seeing Bend it Like Beckham, a cool film about women soccer players in England/Indian culture in England/cool words you don't sound silly saying if you're in England.
anyhow, great movie. I'm also excited about the trailers for Whale Rider (also about young girls overcoming stereotypes to achieve goals) and Winged Migration (by the people who made Microcosmos). One of my favorite movie memories is seeing Microcosmos at the Luna Outdoor cinema in Perth, with butterflies and other insects flying overhead, eating a sausage, drinking a pint, and enjoying a summer night watching a flick. ahhh...
