I'm almost finished with a reader's copy of The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. This is spectacular. A modern love story between a man who randomly travels to different points of his life, and a woman who meets him early in her life, falls in love, and has to wait until she meets him again until they can marry. A thought-provoking book on the nature of our lives, how we change as people as we grow older, and how we handle love when apart. The author deftly weaves the tale, throwing in many surprises and unexpected laughs.
This is going to be a strong handsell and hopefully a bestseller when released in September.
It's Audrey Niffenegger's first book, so not a lot is known about her. She's a book arts teacher and artist in Chicago (where the book mainly takes place). The film rights for TTW have already been optioned to the production company of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. MacAdam/Cage paid their largest advance ever for the book (money well spent in my opinion). I can't wait to see this book in finished format.
Here's what some Google research turned up:
