The New York Times has a lengthy piece on Beau Friedlander, the publisher behind
Context Books. Context is a new independent that publishes books by Daniel Quinn, Derrick Jensen, David Means, and many other writers that don't fit well into mainstream publishing houses. The article highlights the struggles Context has gone through in the last five years, and why they have turned to publishing political books as a means to further the publisher's mission and help build revenue to fund other book projects.
