One of the best Harry Potter parties I've read about so far is going down at Village Books in Bellingham, WA. Alas, I'll be holding down the fort at Third Place Books that evening.

"Every Muggle knows that the fifth Harry Potter book goes on sale at midnight Friday, June 20th. But did you know that Village Books is throwing a party for Harry and all his fans from 10pm until midnight on Friday, June 20th? Rain or moon glow there will be fun and games, refreshments and a magic show on the Fairhaven Village Green, just behind Village Books. So come eat a golden snitch treat and have a drink of Harry's favorite butter beer while you wait for Harry Potter number five.
And, during the party Village Books will begin it's 23rd Anniversary sale. Nearly everything in the store, including Harry Potter books and tapes, will be 20% off. The store will remain open during the sale of Harry Potter books at midnight, then the sale will resume on Saturday from 9 AM until 10 PM and on Sunday from 10 AM until 7 PM. "
