NEW INDEPENDENT IN SPACE OF OLD INDEPENDENT
This story came from PW DAILY a few days ago and Publisher's Lunch had a link to the original Ft Wayne story. Basically, I'm happy that a new, large scale independent is going to be opening. Peter Bobeck will be working with experienced booksellers to open a new store that's modeled on some of the friendlier, inviting big bookstores (Tattered Cover, Third Place Books, etc.).
I'm a little worried about the subplot involving the previous tenant, Dave Kaverman and his Million Story Book Company. Dave was an active independent bookseller who closed his shop because of lease disputes with the landlord. Hopefully they'll be able to sort things out.
