Independent Bookstores featured in Airline Travel Mag
The in-flight magazine for American Airlines features this article on famous independent bookstores around the country. "The great American indie bookstore lives on, nurturing literature lovers who still long for a more intimate encounter with the printed page in a milieu that is stubbornly local and shaped by the personal, sometimes quirky tastes of dedicated bibliophiles," writes Chris Tucker in the article.
I love mainstream articles like this because it reinforces to non-independent customers that stores are still thriving and here's a few examples. I'd also like to see more articles in home design magazines and Trading Spaces shows on bookshelves in the home.
Bookstores featured in the article are:
Strand Books
New York City
Books & Books
Coral Gables, FL
Powell's
Portland, OR
Elliott Bay Book Company
Seattle, WA
Tattered Cover
Denver, CO
Harvard Book Store
Cambridge, MA
