Landmark Boston Book Store to Close
PW Daily is reporting that Boston's Avenue Victor Hugo will close in May.
I'm not a big fan of store closing notices, particularly when they put a press release below it about Borders opening two new stores. (to be fair, they do sometimes put notices about all the WaldenBooks and B. Dalton locations that are being closed.)
Anyhow, instead of focusing too much on the closing, here is a brief list of great bookstores that could always use more support:
Newtonville Books in Newton, MA
Ruminator Books in St. Paul, MN
Shaman Drum in Ann Arbor, MI
Prairie Lights in Iowa City, IA (my new favorite book town)
