St Helens Book Shop Newsletter
Luanne at St Helens Book Shop (St. Helens, OR) is switching to a weekly email newsletter for the summer. She just sent me the first one, with pre-BEA book picks. I second her recommendation for this book:
"Duck for President, by the National bestselling author Doreen Cronin and Caldecott Honoree Betsy Lewin. These authors are the same team that brought us the marvelous shenanigans in Click, Clack, Moo (or Cows that Type). In Duck for President, we find that pesky Duck being voted in to the office of his farm, his state's governship, and as President of his country. All along, his barnyard friends are helping, counting missing ballots, assisting him in his next campaign. But, Duck finds being President is much more that he thought it'd be, just like the past offices he held. Life on the farm is not that bad, after all. Oh, yeah - remember the Farmer he pesters in the first books ( Click, Clack, Moo and Giggle, Giggle, Quack)? He's still getting the runaround from the Duck! Simon & Schuster. Picture book."
