JOB OPENING AT THE MEDIA COALITION, INC.

The Media Coalition, an anti-censorship trade association, is seeking a legislative assistant. The legislative assistant's primary responsibilities include gathering and preparing materials for monthly meetings, reviewing and summarizing legislation, monitoring the activities of pro-censorship groups, gathering pertinent research relevant to censorship issues, and participating in the research and writing of occasional reports on censorship issues. There are also administrative responsibilities including maintaining operation of the office, handling member relations, and researching organizational business decisions. The legislative assistant also collects, prepares and distributes materials in advance of the monthly members meeting. Additional substantive responsibilities are possible as appropriate. Salary will be in the low thirties to start, with comprehensive benefits. A two year commitment is preferred.
