Free Book Inventory Software
For a few years I've wanted to manage my personal book collection through software. It just seems like a good idea. My main reasons were to get an idea of what I have on the shelf, keep track of how much I spend on books, their current prices if I ever want to sell a title, and for the future, in case I ever get to a point where I'm insuring them.
And let's face it, I'm also curious what the collection is worth.
There are a few programs out there for collecting the info. I'm testing the AbeBooks' HomeBase program. I downloaded it a few minutes ago and will start inputting books this week (when there's time!).
I debated buying a program geared more toward book collectors and not booksellers. I'm not going online to sell books anytime soon. But I do want that option and I figure AbeBooks has a very strong financial motivation to update their software to keep and entice booksellers to use their system.
