Pullman in Hollywood 

The Times in the UK is reporting changes in the script for Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials." As a big fan of this series, I'm sad to hear that the parts on organized religion are being toned down. I'm not surprised they're doing this for the movie, but I am disturbed that they're referencing the Bush administration as part of the reason. It's further proof that actions in our federal government can create a ripple effect through culture.

Pullman's agent Caradoc King says, "You have to recognize that it is a challenge in the climate of Bush's America."
